Maternal Mental Health Discussion

The Network of Black Business & Professional Women in collaboration with The Lotus Movement Foundation bring you this important conversation. We want to thank Family Services Ottawa for endorsing this event. A member from their team will be opening the discussion.

The discussion will be a moderated panel that explores the misunderstandings and stigma associated to maternal mental health within the BIPOC communities. More specifically, explore the barriers that exist for mothers to openly share their journeys and experiences on postpartum depression and anxiety. We will also address the importance of accessing the right help and finding safe spaces for mothers of colour.

Panelists include:

1. Vanessa Fareau, Postpartum Depression Survivor

2. Helen Muleme, Postpartum Depression Survivor

3. Lola Sholagbade, M.A., R.P., C.C.C

4. Jocelyn Velasco, Survivor

5. Natasha Khan (MSW, RSW)
