Awareness of Mental Health at Work

The year 2020 will go down in the history books as one of unprecedented change. The rise of the COVID-19 pandemic and social upheaval shining a light on the harms of racism, are both changing how we work, what our customers want, and how we conduct business.

Employees are feeling the impacts of stress as we navigate this new reality, and many of us may feel out of our depth when confronted with this responsibility to respond to people in crisis.

This workshop is designed by Canadian Mental Health Association to help build comfort in talking about mental health and mental illness and learn how to respond in a supportive way to co-workers who may be experiencing a mental illness.

About the Facilitator

Margaret Tebbutt is Senior Consultant, Workplace Initiatives, for the Canadian Mental Health Association, BC Division. In addition to workshops, Margaret delivers presentations on strategic approaches to workplace mental health at conferences. Prior to joining CMHA in 2005, she held positions as Senior Advisor, Executive Development for the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business; Director, Client Service Delivery with Western Economic Diversification Canada; and in Canada’s foreign service at embassies abroad. She is also an advisory committee member for the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion.
