Ableism - What is it and how does it impact society?

A free online 1-hour workshop with mental health information, resources and self-care tips.

With a focus on youth and mental health, Alyson will gently take her audience through identifying systemic, interpersonal and internalized ableism using stories, humor and activities. She will provide resources, and strategies that can be implemented today to further dismantle discrimination. Together we can make a difference for everyone.

Alyson Seale has been working in the field of disability for more than 30 years and is currently an Associate Professor at the University of the Fraser Valley. She is serving on several Equity Diversity and Inclusion committees at the university and at the city. Alyson is a charismatic speaker, passionate about sharing information about anti-ableism. She is a seasoned speaker, consultant and advocate.

For youth ages 18-30 who have disabilities, caregivers and service providers. Part of a series of FREE online workshops on the topic of Mental Health, which occur monthly between September 2020 and March 2021.
