Managing and Reducing Stress

When will this be over - or will it ever? We’re missing family, friends, hugs, the ability to come and go safely and all sense of normalcy, whatever that even is anymore. This makes us feel powerless, fearful and stressed. So, what CAN you do? How do you cope?

In this interactive session presented by licensed mental health counselor Jill Hamilton Buss, you’ll learn about the nature and impacts of stress while discovering evidence-based strategies for managing and reducing stress in daily life.

By participating in this program, you can expect to learn:

  • How stress works and why today’s main stressor, COVID-19, is the granddaddy of all stressors for adults and children.
  • About the many facets of stress, how it manifests in the body and mind and how chronic stress can have serious negative consequences on both.
  • How you can manage and reduce your stress through 10 simple, evidence-based strategies.

The event is being hosted by the Center for Health & Wellbeing of Central Florida, which hosts community health and wellness programs dedicated to strengthening the body, mind, and spirit.
